(dBTechno) – Australian milkman Shane Fuller encountered something unexpected recently on his otherwise mundane milk delivery route.
The quick-thinking Fuller, who still delivers milk the old fashioned way by driving a truck directly to the customer’s location, saw a planter box at one of the homes on his route completely engulfed in flames.
Without having much time to react, Fuller turned to the only liquid he had available to help him quench the fast-growing flames and doused the fire using milk bottles from the back of his truck.
Fuller said that when he came upon the fire, he estimated that the height of the flames had already reached as high as half a metre and that palm fronds and mulch were already feeding the size of the fire. He said he decided to use the milk he had at hand to douse the growing flames so that the situation wouldn’t get any worse and possibly move toward consuming the home as well.
He said: “The flames were about half a metre high – some of the mulch and palms were starting to burn… I jumped in and made sure it couldn’t get any worse.”
“I jumped in and made sure it couldn’t get any worse.”
His only regret was that his milk supply for the day was going to be shorter than expected and that one of his restaurant customers wouldn’t receive their normal delivery because it had been used for a more important purpose than flavoring coffee!
Australian milkman/hero puts fire out… with milk.
