Fast food workers seem to have entirely too much time on their hands these days. One of the latest photos to hit the internet show an unidentified KFC fast food worker appearing to lick a plate piled high with the chain’s signature mashed potatoes.
Officials at KFC headquarters did not take kindly to the stunt, which some say attempted to prove just how “finger lickin’ good” the food offered by the restaurant chain begun by Colonel Harland Sanders tastes. The worker who participated in the photo stunt at an undisclosed Tennessee location, was a high school student who was promptly fired for his actions.
Officials at KFC confirmed that the location where the incident happened was a company franchise operation and that the franchisee took immediate action to terminate the employee who not only refused to follow sanitary procedures in the kitchen but also had the audacity to record the incident and then share it on the Internet.
KFC management assures the public and consumers who frequent KFC restaurants throughout Tennessee that the photograph was taken in the restaurant’s kitchen after the unit was closed to the public and that none of the tainted mashed potatoes were ever served to a customer.
