Sea Isle City, New Jersey – Police in this popular beach destination town of roughly 2,200 people have arrested a couple on the charge of public lewdness for doing the slappy nappy on the beach IE engaging in sexual intercourse. Truth be told, it’s a wonder more couple aren’t charged for this as things stand. It is clinically proven that getting wet has an aphrodisiac-like effect on people which many can attest to experiencing. That said, certain activities have their place and a public beach isn’t exactly the best venue in which to freely express one’s affections.
The two people involved were residents of Philadelphia spending time together. They are Ms. Stephanie Wallington, age 23, and Mr. Matthew McPeak, age 27. In all fairness, they weren’t going at it as in the film “From Here to Eternity” with a jelly-roll on the sand. They were in the water concealed by the surf or so they thought. Onlookers realized what was going on and responded by engaging officers. Police arriving on the scene instructed the couple to cease the behavior and exit the water. McPeak promptly exited the water, but his girlfriend was delayed as she tried to get her bikini top back on.
Once they were out of the water, they were arrested on a 4th degree charge of public lewdness which is likely a misdemeanor. In some parts of the country, they would have been charged with a felony requiring them to register as sex offenders. Onlookers gathered to gawk at the couple and some even took photographs which they later posted online with derisive comments. Thus far, neither of them have spoken to the press about the incident. It may be that alcohol played a role in the affair. It’s a substance also known to get people in the mood for love.
Both were released and issued summonses.
