Don’t Take Someone’s Parking Spot!
Julie Weakly, 40, and her husband, Christopher, unknowingly stole the parking space at a Nebraska Walmart that Kimberly Pankratius, 36, was waiting for in the evening of Saturday, November 1, 2014.
Even though Kimberly then pulled into the spot right next to them and did not have to continue looking for a parking space, she still cursed at them and decided to taunt and terrorize the couple when she was about to leave and they were quietly walking toward the store through the parking lot.
Instead of just driving away, Kimberly let her angry emotions take over her intentions, and she decided to turn the PT cruiser around. With the tires screeching, she later admitted that she picked up speed as she drove right toward the couple for the purpose of scaring them, reports the New York Daily News.
Julie was struck by the driver side mirror of Kimberly’s PT Cruiser as the vehicle came within inches of the couple, and the mirror was seen dangling. Although Julie refused medical treatment and her husband said that they were both lucky not to have been run over since he was also almost hit, Kimberly’s subsequent cooperation with the police and saying that she “felt really bad” and “I did do it” did not keep her from being charged with the two felonies of Assault and the Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony. She was later booked into the Lancaster County jail in lieu of $2,500 bond.
This was actually enough of an event to be considered as a case of “road rage”. The police take such incidents seriously because in many instances someone ends up being injured, some victims very seriously. The Lincoln Police felt that Pankratius should face a punishment for her erratic actions.
