This trial for Princess Cristina has been pending for many years. The monarchy doesn’t know how to turn this around. Royal Families reflect a lot about a countries way of doing things. This fraud was the result of pure greed. Shame on them. They had everything they wanted to be happy and represent Spain at its best around the world. Instead, they decided to cheat Hacienda and steal money from the people of Spain. If they are not judged correctly, people will believe the judicial system is corrupted and therefore more corruption will run loose.
I don’t understand why people with money never seem to have enough of it. Why cheat and take a chance on having to go to prison? I think people like the Princess should be nailed to the cross when they commit crimes, then maybe those who feel like they are above the law will be knocked off of their golden pedestals to set an example of what happens to those who break the law …. regardless of how big they think they are. Equal justice for all should be the name of the game.
Ditto, for the elite on this side of the pond .. I can think of a few of them right off the bat, here, in America who should be suffering the same fate as the Princess.
I don’t get how this is a good case for a Republic over a Monarchy. Even if she is guilty, how does that prove Monarchy is inherantly a bad form of Government? Elected Politicians also do illegal Things, and not all Nobles do illegal THings.
This should be a case of Law, disregarding the ideas of if Monarchy is a good or bad form fo Givernment. AAbolishing the Monarhcy won’t mean those in power are honest.
Reuters has reported that an anonymous ONE BILLION DOLLAR contribution to the Clinton Global Initiative Foundation was recently made by an organization based in Mexico. Allegedly, this donation was made IN CASH, and delivered personally to Bill Clinton by a well known American actor. Interestingly, this donation was made at the same time that the U.S. government is attempting to extradite fugitive Mexican drug lord “El Chapo” to the U.S. to face multiple drug conspiracy charges.
