Lombardy Elementary ‘Hurt Feelings Report’ sent to parents

The Brandywine School District is apologizing after a staff member accidently sent parents a sarcastic “Hurt Feelings Report” that makes fun of “whiners.”

As reported by the Daily News, the one-page blank form was attached to an email sent by Lombardy Elementary for an upcoming “Exercise Your Brain Day” event at the Brandywine Hundred school.

The document is structured like a bullying report “to assist whiners in documenting hurt feelings” and offers that “an EMS team will be dispatched to soak your socks in coal oil to prevent ants from crawling up your legs and eating their way up your candy ***.”

The same fake form appears on several Internet humor sites.

The incident at Lombardy Elementary School, in Wilmington, unfolded as follows:

  • Someone creates sarcastic form entitled ‘Hurt Feelings Report’ stating that its purpose is to ‘assist whiners in documenting hurt feelings’
  • The document takes the mick out of any child reporting bullying with sections like ‘How long did you whine?’
  • A staff member at the school is putting together an email for parents for an Exercise Your Brain Day at Brandywine Hundred school and accidentally attaches said document
  • Whoever it was probably buries their head in their hands

What a Brandywine School District spokesman said:

‘The attachment was something that had been sent to them from a person external to the school.

‘It was not an official document of Lombardy Elementary or the Brandywine School District. This was an embarrassing mistake, but it was just that – a mistake. It should not have happened, and we apologize for the error.’

Lombardy has grades kindergarten through fifth, as well as a special education program.
