A public memorial is being planned for September in London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral for Robin Gibb, one of the famed Brothers Gibb of the Bee Gees. Robin died on May 20th at the age of 62.

While he had been battling cancer, his son reported that the cancer was in remission and kidney failure was the actual cause of death. He had been recovering from pneumonia, experienced a seizure, and was given more medication to ease the effects of his condition as well as his chemotherapy.

His body could not properly process the medication and his kidney problems ensued. A blood transfusion failed as well. His private funeral, a small family affair, will take place sometime in June near his home in Thame, Oxfordshire. However, the family felt a need to offer a public memorial with the great outpouring of love from fans who have followed the musician for decades.
