Diamond Jubilee celebrations have been increasing in England as the Queen quickly approaches her 60th year on the throne. The Queen was joined by her grandson, Prince William and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge Kate, at an event on the Thames this past weekend.

The Duchess wore a stunning scarlet dress that was created by designer Alexander McQueen. She topped the outfit with a beautiful scarlet hat by designer Sylvia Fletcher. However, as stunning as Kate looked, she was sure to make sure that her outfit did not outshine the Queen.

The outfit was beautiful, but the Queen was the center of attention, as it should have been. The Duchess of Cambridge was very practical in choosing an outfit that was beautiful, but not so stunning that all anyone did was talk about what she wore to the event instead of what occurred with the Queen at the celebration.
