Television personality Regis Philbin retired in November of 2011. The host of Live! With Regis and Kelly made the announcement in January 2011 and left his show later in the year at the age of 80.

Philbin was also hosting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on ABC. Philbin was not only a television host, he was also an actor and singer. He hosted his own show in the sixties and later in the eighties.

He also was on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, Mirror Mirror, and announced the Tonight Show. Philbin’s film appearances include 2011’s Jack and Jill, Little Miss Sunshine and Shrek the Third. Philbin was born in New York City on August 25, 1931. He had a brother who died from Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2007.

Regis is known for his comedic timing and likable personality. Philbin is a Guinness World Record holder for most hours on camera.
