A&E reality TV star Billy Bretherton, otherwise known as Billy the Exterminator, was arrested along with his wife on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, reports TMZ.
Following a 911 hang-up call, police arrived at a Courtyard Marriot in Benton, Louisiana; Bretherton and his wife, Mary, were in possession of drug-smoking devices and what was believed to be synthetic marijuana. Bretherton is owner/operator of Vexcon LLC — a pest control and extermination service.
Synthetic marijuana mimicks the effects of real marijuana; some are legal in most states and some are not.
The police seized the suspected synthetic marijuana for testing. The drugs came back positive for synthetic marijuana. Police took out warrants for the Brethertons’ arrest. Following contact with police, the reality show stars turned themselves into police and bonded out the same day.
A court date for the two has not been set as of press release and calls to the Brethertons were not returned. A&E did not have a comment.
