No Series Finale for CSI Miami
CBS executives announced Sunday that the procedural spin-off of the hit TV show CSI will not be returning in the fall. The show, CSI: Miami, finished airing its 10th season on April eighth.
CBS had this to say about the cancellation: “CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of CSI: Miami in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.”
As the cancellation announcement occurred after the cast wrapped shooting, viewers will be disappointed to learn that there will be no series finale for this show. The other CSI spin-off, CSI: New York has been renewed for a tenth season. Four other shows, including the medical drama “A Gifted Man” and sitcom “Rob”, were also cancelled this week.
