The band Kiss will produce a line of merchandise designed in the show’s distinctive style.
The merchandise will be released this fall and will include art prints and bobblehead dolls, reports AntiMusic.com.
Singer and guitarist Paul Stanley said that the band “is focusing more and more on the upper-tier, blue-chip opportunities for prestige partnerships”.
He added that “Family Guy’s track record and consistent success with its demographic makes this match-up ideal”.
20th Century Fox Consumer Products will also license Family Guy products inspired by other guests on the show
KISS and Family Guy coming together for a line of products is a great mash-up of two iconic brands,” said Jeffrey Godsick, president of Fox Consumer Products.
KISS have appeared on Family Guy three times. Peter Griffin is a fan of the band and his wife Lois says she once dated bass player Gene Simmons before he became famous. Simmons replied: “Lois, our night together is a memory I will cherish.”
KISS are also due to release a new album called Monster in October.
Outside of co-branding efforts, Fox Consumer Products is developing character collections based on Stewie, Brian, Peter and Quagmire, while expanding into new product categories. One new area includes pet products. A deal with Fetch…for pets!, already in place, will introduce a full range of pet toys, clothing, collars, leads, bowls and even backgrounds and accessories for fish and reptile tanks starting in 2013.
