Duchess Kate Middleton Must Curtsy
A recent list released from the Queen of England details the Order of Precedence for the women of the kingdom.
While a lot managed to stay the same, Kate Middleton learned that she will have to curtsy to blood princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, daughters of the Duke of York.
However, she will be curtsied to in the same company if her husband, Prince William is with her.
The Huffington Post reports, regardless of William’s presence, Catherine must always curtsy to the queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, and to Charles and Camilla, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, respectively. The Order of Precedence was last updated in 2005, when Princesses Anne and Alexandra had the queen rework the rules so they wouldn’t have to curtsy to Charles’ second wife, Camilla, when he wasn’t present.
“Updating the Order of Precedence has been a simple matter of following the precedent set when the Prince of Wales married Camilla Parker Bowles,” a courtier tells the Telegraph.
It has been suggested that recent rivalries and bad blood within the kingdom has spawned the Queen to update this list, as the last time it was updated in this manner it related to a dispute among the women in the kingdom as well.
See, even royalty have family drama.
