Three years after the death of his one-time owner, pop-star Michael Jackson, Jackson’s tiger Thriller succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 13.
Jackson gave up the tiger when he left Neverland Ranch north of Santa Barbara in 2006 and it was given to the Shambala Animal Preserve in Acton, CA run by actress Tippi Hedron. Hedren, who reported the death of the 375-pound exotic animal, said that it was Jackson’s veterinarian who asked to turn the animal over to Shambala for proper care, but that the singer himself never called to inquire about how the tiger was faring in his new home.
