Following the death of his son, 36-year old Sage, actor Sylvester Stallone asked the public “to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace” in a statement released to TMZ on July 16. “I’m grief stricken,” he said. Sage was the first-born son to Stallone and Sasha Czack, his wife from 1974 to 1985.

Sage’s body was found in his Studio City, California apartment by his housekeeper last week, reportedly days after his death.

The autopsy was completed Sunday. A toxicology report is pending.

A friend of the film maker told the Sun Times, that “Something just has not been right with Sage for the past months.”

He adds, “I don’t think he would do anything to take his own life, and there’s absolutely no evidence he did. But I wonder if his overall distraction could have led him to make a mistake. It’s mistakes that so often lead people taking prescription drugs to make a fatal mistake.”

Sage Stallone made his acting debut in 1990, playing Rocky Balboa’s son in Rocky V.
