A familiar Problem
This isn’t the first time the county singer has had troubles with the law.
Following an afternoon and evening of Superbowl festivities In Feburary, Travis was arrested for suspicion of public intoxication as he headed for home.
The incident occurred in the early morning in the town of Sanger, around 50 miles from Dallas, Texas, following a tip phoned in to local police. The caller reported a suspicious car parked outside of the First Baptist Church of Sanger.
When officers arrived to investigate, they found Travis sitting in his car in front of the church, disoriented, slurring his words and smelling strongly of alcohol. Travis told officers that he was heading for his ranch, located 20 miles from Sanger.
Travis was arrested and booked at the Denton County jail at 1:30 a.m. Monday, then released a short time later.
The singer issued a public apology for his behavior, stating that he is committed to being responsible and accountable, and that he is sorry for his actions.
