Brad Pitt Shows Interest in Bollywood

Brad Pitt, one of the world’s most famous actors has expressed interest in starring in a Bollywood film, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

Bollywood, one of the world’s largest movie industries produces an average of 900 films per year.

Many Bollywood films can span over two hours and include drama, action, romance and dancing with many elaborate costumes, including an intermission. Several Bollywood actors have crossed over to Hollywood, such as Aishwarya Rai, a former Miss World.

It may make sense for Brad Pitt to star in a Bollywood film, as Bollywood keeps growing at a rapid pace and the quality of the film-making and scripts continues to improve.

“Indian cinema seems to be growing very well at its own pace. I would love to work in a Bollywood film as there is so much drama and color in the films there,” Pitt told Indian news agency IANS in an email interview. “The filmmaking, I hear, has evolved a lot in India, and of late we have witnessed some good films making a presence at the Oscars and the world stage.”
Added the 48-year-old actor: “That tells you a lot about the quality of the actors and the films. You never know when I might decide to work in a Bollywood film and do one of those dance numbers with the whole crew in the backdrop.”

Additionally, it can open up a whole new market for him, especially with all the cost-cutting going on in Hollywood. Other actors have expressed interest in starring in Bollywood films such as Tom Cruise and Hugh Jackman, further solidifying Bollywood’s growing prominence in the worldwide movie industry.
