Kate Gosselin Gets Pink Slip for Blogging Job
Kate Gosselin, whose challenges as mother of eight was recounted on the reality TV series Kate Plus Eight, has lost her job as blogger for the CouponCabin blog on the Internet, according to various reports.
Gosselin was a blogger for the couponing site, a hot topic in these tough economic times, since the fall of 2011 and posted her first blog last November.
CouponCabin CEO Scott Kluth would not give specific reasons why Gosselin’s writing talents would no longer be needed, other than to admit that she was not a “good fit” for the blog.
The company’s founder Scott Kluth made the announcement In a letter to her blog readers on Tuesday.
He said: “A series of recent events have made it clear to me that Kate Gosselin and her contributions do not align with the authenticity which we set out to build almost a decade ago, and that Ms. Gosselin is simply not a good fit with the wonderful team and culture at CouponCabin.
“It’s with this that I am writing to inform you of our decision to discontinue Ms. Gosselin’s feature blog on CouponCabin.com.
“Ms. Gosselin’s contributions garnered both positive attention and criticism, but as always, I respect and appreciate your candid opinions, which often encourage us not to lose sight of our mission — to help YOU save money.
“We wish Kate, her family and her support staff all the best.”
It’s very likely that Gosselin went too far afield in her blog posts, focusing on money saving tips and projects rather than on couponing itself which is the purpose of the blog. The loss of her blogging gig is the latest in a series of failures for Gosselin, who has seen her TLC series cancelled as well as her marriage dissolve within the past two years.
