Clark Kent Quits the Daily Planet
DC Comics – in issue #13 of the reboot of Superman set for release tomorrow, it’s been announced that Clark Kent will abruptly quit his job at the Daily Planet – a job his character has faithfully kept since 1938.
DC Comics launched a new initiative last year to allow for complete artistic freedom for their writers.
In the latest incarnation of the man of steel, Clark will seek out another job to pose as his cover when not saving the planet.
The new job is that of a blogger and this has fueled some speculation that Clark Kent will become a sort of Matt Drudge with breaking stories. As the story will further reveal tomorrow, Kent runs afoul of his editor by failing to write enough headline grabbing stories about Superman.
The Superman reboot, called ‘H’el on Earth’, promises to reveal many new and interesting twists to the venerable action hero who for decades was the bread and butter of DC Comics.
