Jessica Simpson’s Parents Head to Divorce Court
Jessica Simpson, singer, actor, business woman, mother and Weight Watchers spokesperson, now has to contend with her parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, heading to divorce court.
“The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities … that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation,” court documents said.
Jessica joins Britney Spears and Beyonce Knowles, who are also the same age and whose parents filed for divorce during the height of their celebrity and after years of marriage.
Jessica got her start as a Christian singer in Richardson, TX, where her father was a minister. She has since become a platinum-record selling singer, actor, reality TV star, clothing designer, mother and Weight Watchers spokesperson. She had also experienced divorce with her former husband, Nick Lachey. Jessica’s younger sister, actor and singer, Ashley Simpson, is divorced from Pete Wentz.
Rumors have risen claiming Joe is gay and this is the reason he filed for divorce. However, both parties have denied this claim. Tina Simpson filed for irreconcilable differences. They both played a role in their daughters’ success and are looking to split their assets evenly.
