Dolly Parton Denies Gay Affair Rumors

Country singer and Dollywood amusement park owner Dolly Parton has once again denied that she is lesbian or having an affair with her best girlfriend of over 40 years Judy Ogle.

Parton married Carl Dean some forty years ago shortly after arriving in Nashville, but since he is a very private person who prefers to stay away from the limelight, rumors have surfaced for years that Parton is actually gay and dating her best friend Ogle, who she has known since their days together in grade school.

Parton likens her long-standing friendship with her friend to that of talk show queen Oprah Winfrey’s close friendship with girlfriend Gayle King and says that people mistakenly insist if two women are extremely close, it implies that the two are romantically involved.

In A new interview with Nightlne, Parton put an end to the rumors.

Parton freely admits that she loves Judy Ogle, but not in any romantic way and says that people misinterpret their closeness.

“Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade,” she said in the interview.

‘We still just have a great friendship and relationship and I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we’re not romantically involved.’

During her interview, Parton also recalled the time she entered a drag show and lost the competition.

“They had a bunch of Chers and Dollys that year, so I just over-exaggerated — made my beauty mark bigger, the eyes bigger, the hair bigger, everything,” she said.

“All these beautiful drag queens had worked for weeks and months getting their clothes.

“So I just got in the line and I just walked across, and they just thought I was some little short gay guy.. but I got the least applause.”
