Remembering Harry Carey, Jr


Harry Carey, Jr. passed away on December 27th at the age of 91 from natural causes in Santa Barbara, California, according to Carey, Jr. was the son of actor Harry Carey, Sr. and was a prevalent actor of the early 1950s through the 1960s. He debuted in over 90 Western films which were directed by John Ford.Carey starred with well-known actor John Wayne and other greats of his time. Carey also had a part in Gentlemen Prefer Blonds alongside Marilyn Monroe, the 1985 hit movie Mask, starring Cher, and Back to the Future III. Before Carey made his movie debut he served for six years in the Navy, serving in World War II.

During his later years Carey was inducted into the “Hall of Great Western Performers” which took place in 2003. Carey had no children. He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Marilyn Fix.
