Star of “Game of Thrones” Show is Broke
Stunningly beautiful actress Lena Headey, known to million of fans of the show “Game of Thrones” as Queen Cersei, is broke – at least according to court filings obtained by TMZ.com. Headey is owed an income tax refund of $46,000 from 2011. She is currently in a divorce from her husband Peter Loughran who is demanding half of the refund as communal property. Headey says she needs the money to support her 2-year-old son.
In her court filings, Headey claimed that she is living off of credit and that she needs $6,000 of the refund for immediate short-term needs. She expects her income to resume in the near future from “Games of Thrones”.
In all fairness, she suggested both she and her husband get $6,000 each from the refund and then have the remaining $34,000 placed in a blocked account that requires both of their signatures for any withdraws. The judge in this case denied both Headey and Loughgran’s demands for money. At this time, Headey is claiming she has only $5 left in her bank account. The HBO series “Game of Thrones” has been running since 2011 and is wildly popular.
Given the success of the show, people might taken it for granted that money would not be a problem for Headey, but it just goes to show “you never can tell”.
