Kathy Griffin Says Her Bravo Show Cancelled

In true Kathy Griffin style, the comedian choose to announce Bravo’s cancellation of her talk show “Kathy” while she was onstage in Ohio doing a stand-up comedy performance.

The chat fest had the premiere of its second season this winter but Griffin herself informed the audience that officials at Bravo had contacted her just the day before to inform her that “Kathy” was not on the line-up for a third season.

Griffin first appeared on the Bravo cable network with a reality TV show in 2005 that focused on the quirks of her own crazy life, called “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.”.

That series ran until 2011. Griffin’s signature style of comedy is to poke fun at her status on the lower rungs of Hollywood fame and fortune, in addition to showcasing the relationship she has with her mother.

The Bravo Network refused any comment as to why the decision was made to cancel “Kathy”, although the second month into its second season its timeslot was unexpectedly changed. Griffin refused to comment further on her reaction to losing her latest Bravo gig, although there are reports that the comedian recently partnered with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper to shoot a pilot for a new show.
