The Three Films of the Gyllenhaals
Siblings Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal have been acting for more than 20 years. The children of a film director and a producer the pair have appeared together in three movies.
Maggie, 35, made her feature film debut at 15 in “Waterland” directed by her father, Stephen Gyllenhaal, in 1992. Since then she has worked steadily in films, modeling and a number of appearances in theater productions
Jake, 32, began his acting appearance at 11. His first film was the comedy “City Slickers” with Billy Crystal in 1991. Like his sister, he has worked in both Hollywood and on the London stage.
The siblings first appeared together in “A Dangerous Woman” which was directed by their father in 1993. Their next film together was 1998’s “Homegrown” and was also directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal .
The third and final movie in which they appeared together was the 2001 fantasy hit “Donnie Darko.”
