Brad Pitt: Happier now without Jennifer Aniston

It’s been 12 years since Brad Pitt married Jennifer Aniston and 8 years since their subsequent divorce, but it seems as though the handsome actor can’t help but allude to comparisons between his home life then and now.

And his verdict is: He is a much happier man now. On sharing his life now with wife Angelina Jolie and their sizable brood, he said in the recent issue of Esquire magazine, “I haven’t known life to be any happier,” he says. “I’m making things. I just haven’t known life to be any happier.”

Pitt offers some surprising revelations in his Esquire interview, but doesn’t go into too much detail. He alludes to some drug use in the past – “For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired.” – and being deeply unhappy before his marriage to Jolie. Pitt states, “I spent years f–king off, but then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity.” This was, according to Pitt, “about a decade ago,” which would have been during his marriage to Aniston.

Speaking about his life now, Pitt can’t help but rave. “I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big,” he tells Esquire of his home life. “I wanted there to be chaos in the house…There’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging. I love it. I love it. I love it.”
