A Flock of Seagulls Van Returned Without Valuable Gear

The 1980’s band, Flock of Seagulls, reported their van stolen last week in southern California. The missing van has been returned, although $70,000 worth of gear is still missing.

Band leader, Mike Score, is particularly upset that the hard drive containing his first solo album is missing, a project which is eighteen months in the making. Fans and friends of the band are scouring ebay and craigslist in hopes of finding the pilfered items along with the perpetrators of the crime.

The white, 15 passenger, Ford E-350 van was located in Santa Fe Springs, California after a suspicious vehicle was reported as sitting idle for two days. The van was originally stolen in front of a hotel in Downey, California. Police are reportedly dusting the vehicle for prints in the hopes of catching the thieves. Among the items stolen were a keyboard, two customized electric guitars and a customized drum kit. Southern California guitar stores have also been notified of the theft in case an attempt is made to sell the gear in person.

The band is in the middle of a six-week summer tour and notes that “the show must go on.” They have been borrowing equipment where possible and are hoping to see some of their equipment returned soon.
