Actor Ben Affleck has been making a big name for himself as an actor and director, including such respected films as “Gone Baby Gone,” “The Town” and the highly successful “Argo.” He is currently working on an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s highly successful 2012 book, “Gone Girl.” Flynn’s novel was one of the best selling books of 2012.
This time, Affleck is working strictly as an actor with David Fincher attached to direct. Fincher is well known for movies such as “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “The Social network,” and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”
The recently released teaser indicates Fincher’s trademark “low key” directorial style combinined with some of Affleck’s best acting in years. Affleck plays a man who’s wife (Rosamund Pike) disappears on their wedding anniversary. Affleck’s character is considered the primary subject and is heavily scrutinized by the media that treats him as if he is already guilty of the crime, even as he reaches out to the community to help find her.
Other actors involved in the movie include Missi Pyle, writer and director Tyler Perry, Neil Patrick Harris, Kim Dickens, Scoot McNairy, and Emily Ratajkowski. It is set to be released on October 3, 2014.
