Celebrate National Pancake Day at IHOP
It’s that time of year again. National Pancake Day and people the nation over are going to their favorite International House Of Pancakes restaurant (IHOP) to celebrate. Since the inception of IHOP’s National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, they have raised thirteen million dollars for local charities. This year, the goal is to raise three million dollars for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Just head over to a participating IHOP and enjoy a free stack of Buttermilk pancakes. At the end of the meal, patrons are asked to make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals or other designated charities.
While the specific charity a patron’s donations go to may change depending on the needs of the local community, the main benefactor of the event is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Funds raised are used in the local area to support charitable healthcare services and pediatric medical equipment. Since 1983, this non-profit charity has raised north of five billion dollars to aid its goal to ‘save and improve the lives of as many children as possible’. The Network includes 170 member hospitals which provide treatment to thirty two million children across the United States and Canada each year.
