Prince Harry and His “Harry Potter” Scar

Prince Harry of Wales at age 29 remains one of the most eligible bachelors in Western society. The popularity of the late Lady Di’s two sons has soared in recent years as the young men struck out on their own. Prince Harry pursued his own military career and was even deployed to Iraq as part of the British contingent of the 1st Mechanised Brigade of the 3rd Mechanised Division. His commitment to performing his duties the same as other military personnel was notable given the prize he presented to Al-Qaida in Iraq if they could kill or capture a British royal.

It turns out that the prince doesn’t have a perfect or injury free body. He has what he terms is a “Harry Potter” scar on his head. Fans of the J.K. Rowling character know that Potter got his lightning shaped scar on his forehead after a death enchantment by Lord Voldemort backfired. In Prince Harry’s case, it was nothing quite so noble. Rather, he was 13-years-old when he got his scar while a buddy accidentally struck him in the head with a golf club while the two were “goofballing”.

As it turns out, Prince Harry isn’t the only member of the family to have a scar. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been spotted with a lengthy scar along the left side of her head which is covered by hair, but visible when her hair is pulled back. It wasn’t noticed until 2011 and is attributed to a serious medical procedure she endured as a child, but details regarding the procedure are kept private. In other Prince Harry news, he is urging fellow Brits to get behind the national women’s rugby team in their quest to capture the World Women’s Rugby Cup title which tournament starts on August 17.
