Rebecca Romijn is the host of upcoming game show, “Skin Wars.” The show features body painting artists and their body art creations in a reality show, game show format. Contestants compete by finishing a list of challenges, and try to avoid being eliminated from the game. The show will feature artists from across the country. The show also features a star panel of judges to include RuPaul, Craig Tracy and Robin Slonina. They will eliminate one contestant on each show. The remaining contestant in the last show is the winning artist, and the show will transform the artist’s life.
Romijn is an actress and former fashion model. She has been in several films, including X Men, where she was completely covered in blue body paint for her role as Mystique. She also appeared in the movie The Punisher, and on television series Ugly Betty. She formerly appeared as a model in Sports Illustrated, Victoria Secret, and others. She was also formerly the host of House of Style, which aired from 1998-2000 on MTV.
She recently appeared at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, at the Television Critics Association 2014 Summer Press Tour, where she answered questions from reporters, and conveyed her experiences regarding body paint, specifically as it related to her role in X Men. She also chatted with executives and was there to promote Skin Wars.
She has also been filming Librarians in the Portland area. Librarians is a spinoff of the Librarians TNT movies. Romijn plays a counter terrorism agent in the series. The Librarians is due for release in December.
Skin Wars is set to premier on the Game Show Network on Aug 6. It is scheduled for an eight week run, and will include hour long segments. It offers a diverse group of body painters from places such as Denver, Seattle, WA, Detroit, and Los Vegas.
