Singing her hit “Over You” is always an emotional experience for Miranda Lambert.
The 30-year-old country singer penned the song with husband Blake Shelton; it’s about his older brother, who was killed in a car accident when Shelton was just 14.
But at Lambert’s concert in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday, the singer got so emotional, she couldn’t finish the song.

The reason? The sass and spirit of 7-year-old fan Brooke Hester, who is currently battling stage 4 neuroblastoma. After bending down to hold hands with the young fan, who was sporting a pink cowboy hat and face mask, Lambert, 30, was so visibly touched, she stood and repeatedly wiped away tears while the crowd finished the song.
