Can you believe it’s been almost a decade since country singer Carrie Underwood won “American Idol?”

time flies when when you’re making hits.

“Something in the Water” is her latest single that is sure to climb the charts. The spiritual song is a throwback to her 2005 hit “Jesus Take the Wheel.”

According to a post on Underwood’s official website, the song will be featured on her upcoming “Greatest Hits: Decade #1″ album.

The country singer tweeted Monday, “Just heard #SomethingInTheWater for the first time on the radio! Yay! So happy happy happy!!!” Underwood’s song skyrocketed to No. 1 on iTunes’ country music charts.

“Something in the Water” highlights Underwood’s Southern Baptist beliefs. In the second verse, the crooner sings, “Couldn’t fight back the tears, so I fell on my knees / Saying, ‘God, if you’re there come and rescue me’ / Felt love pouring down from above / Got washed in the water, washed in the blood.”

The final verse in “Something in the Water” is just as powerful.

“And now I’m singing along to ‘Amazing Grace’ / Can’t nobody wipe this smile off my face / Got joy in my heart, angels on my side / Thank God almighty, I saw the light / Gonna look ahead no turning back / Live everyday giving all that I have / Trust in someone bigger than me / Ever since the day that I believed.”

The album, which will feature Underwood’s 18 number one singles from her career, will hit stores on December 9.
