George Jones an American songwriter, singer, and musician uttered these words before he died “Hiya. I’ve been looking for you. I’m George Jones.” His wife Nancy believes he was introducing himself to God. He is one of the greatest male country singers of the times.

Jones died on April 26th known for songs like White Lightening. His very first record was called No Money In This Deal released in September 1954. In 1957, he won the magazine Billboard award for most promising country vocalist. His first album released in 1958 was titled Grand Ole Opry’s New Star.

In 1962 he won the Billboard Male Vocalist of the Year award again. Through the years he released dozens of albums. In 1980, he won the Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for the song “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” He was ranked by Country Music Television the 3rd greatest men in country music out of 40 in 2003.

The resting place of George Jones has been named the Garden of the Grand Tour. It will always have a gate that is open for visitors to come to see the grave. He will be getting his own museum in downtown Nashville which will open in the near future.
