As we all know, Vogue is no stranger to photo enhancements. Taking a little off the waste here, making a model’s legs a little longer, or her breasts a little larger are not uncommon practice in the magazine industry. But, it’s not everyday that someone gets their hands on those untouched photos. Alas, today Jezebel released an article chronicling a recent photo shoot with Lena Dunham.
The article points out, and displays, that multiple changes have been made to the Lena Dunham photographs; her waste has been cinched, her dressed has been raised around her chest, and her neck has been thinned and pulled in. There has been mixed reaction to the photographs. Some people claim that the need for adjustments are a direct reflection on the capability of the photographer! Perhaps if she was doing her job then the need for the touchups wouldn’t be necessary.
Though there was a negative response to Vogue and to the photographer from the article, most people generally agree that Lena looks great either way. They are so relieved to see someone like Lena, who isn’t a six foot tall and size two model, hit the pages of a high end fashion magazine like Vogue.
