Royal Carribean Debuts Quantum of the Seas
With the fastest internet on any cruise ship, room keys that are worn as wrist bands, and robot bartenders, Quantum of the Seas is the most technologically outfitted cruise ship industry-wide says The Daily Mail. Though boasting a 4,180-passenger capacity, Quantum isn’t as large as her sister ships, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, according to USA Today. She holds her own as the third largest passenger ship in the world, equipped to the nines with amenities not found on any other ship. Such diversions as a skydiving simulator and bumper car rink don’t outshine the keynote feature, The North Star, a mechanical arm that swivels passengers 300-feet above ground and over the water allowing them a 360-degree view.
Per The Miami Herald, one surprising revelation in her itinerary is that Quantum will be based in China after a tour of duty in North America. She will spend two days in Southhampton, making two circuits around the Isle of Wight for media and travel agents. The first paid cruise is to the US and will stop at Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey for her christening the Cruise Critic says. From there, Quantum of the seas will operate between the Carribean and the US throughout the Spring before heading to China states the Latin Post.
