Disney Breaks $100 mark

On February 22nd Disney Resorts officially raised their prices for a one day, single park ticket to $105. Disney ticket prices may have doubled in the last decade but that does not keep people from visiting their parks, in fact Walt Disney World had a million more visitors last year than the year before.

Everyone always asks “why raise prices?” the reason is because Disney is continually adding new attractions and attractions cost money. Although a single ticket may have topped $100, most people opt for the multi day tickets or annual passes. The longer you stay the more you save, a 3 day ticket cost $275, where a 10 day ticket only cost $365, and an annual pass is $779, $649 for Florida residents.

How does this compare to other forms of entertainment? Disney is unlike any place on earth, just watching a movie in 4DX can cost as much as $26 for a 2 hour experience that will not compare to a single day at a Disney resort. NFL ticket prices can range from $146 for a Cleveland Browns game to $452 for a Seattle Seahawks game, by comparison Disney would be like going to a matinee.

As long as Disney is viewed as the “Happiest place on Earth” people will continue to pay the price to visit. “To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America.” Walt Disney
