It’s about time Randy Savage was added.
When I was in elementary school, he visited my school to promote education. He spent a lot of time doing little volunteer things like that.
Sad part is, Hulk Hogan lived less then 20 minutes away and he never bothered – yet Randy Savage went out of his way to promote education in many schools.
I was a child of the 80’s and I saw Hulk Hogan (during the Hulkamania days) against Adrian Adonis in person. The Macho Man was also there and being a teenage boy, I was trying like hell to get a good glimpse of Ms. Elizabeth. I still have the terrible photos I took that night to enjoy. I lost my interest in wrestling soon after, but I’ll never forget Hogan coming down to the ring with the “I am a real American, fight for the rights of every man” song blasting. What a show!
Daniel Bryan’s part in inducting Connor was the best (and tear-jerking) moment. He had us laughing about the Connor stories, and had us tearing up when he had to admit to having to put his hands in his pockets to keep him from breaking down. That said it was great all the way around, except for two things: 1 Kevin Nash phoned it in 2. Rikishi not giving a mention to Too Cool.
Such a great trip to memory lane watching these legends. I grew up in the 80s when WWF became huge and how it evolved during the 80s, 90s and the 00s. I always admired these guys. They were like super heroes. Later I learned of how things were in the world of pro wrestling and how much of a sacrifice these guys go through and how hard it is for most of them performing night after night and that gave me a new sense of admiration for them.
