Tara Reid Takes The High Road After Elizabeth Banks Diss

Los Angeles – Actress Elizabeth Banks was callously honest in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

In the interview Banks talked about what happens in Hollywood to women after a certain age, using her peer, Tara Reid, as one example as a failure story.

“There was a group of us girls coming up,” the Wet Hot American Summer actress, 41, told The Hollywood Reporter. “A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not.”

Banks says she use to go to auditions with Reid.

“I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid,” Banks shared. “So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.” According to the mag, Banks quickly noted: “I do love Sharknado.”

Indeed, Reid, now 39, reveled in the spotlight after the release of her 1999 movie American Pie, which costarred actresses Alyson Hannigan, Mena Suvari, Natasha Lyonne, and Shannon Elizabeth.

Reid responded by saying:

“I’ve always been a fan of her work and that’s sad to hear she said those things about me.”

Reid’s most recent work includes starring roles in 2013’s Sharknado and its sequel, Sharknado 2. The ’90s hottie and former Scrubs actress recently made headlines for posting an all-nude photo via Instagram.

Meanwhile, Banks attributed brains over buck nakedness to her recent personal successes. “Some big actresses told me a few things that inspired me,” the Hunger Games star said. “One said that the biggest challenge for a female actress was to make sure they are not profoundly bored. Another told me to just do whatever you want — do anything. And another told me that her quote hadn’t changed in 15 years. That really lit a fire under my ***.”
