Speedy recovery wished to the crew. You can see the front-tire-guy try to warn the rear-guy, too late, and he gets cleaned up too. Even the crew along the wall look as to try and warn as they bail out.
Hate to see something like this happen.
I’ve seen two team cars involved in incidents, but I can’t remember ever having seen all three cars in an incident belong to the same team like this one.
This was totally preventable. Who told him to leave at that exact moment, knowing that there were two cars side by side coming at that same time? He should have waited the two seconds until the two cars passed by, before pulling out. I hope the guy who got hit by the tire is ok. That was a nasty hit and probably broke a few bones, but at least it didn’t run him over! Another thing that could have helped prevent this accident is have cars come in only on the far right lane, rather than allow two cars side by side so there is no space to pull out. They really need to revamp their safety culture on pit lane.
I hope the more seriously injured one is okay. While it wasn’t technically the driver’s fault, I found his “interview” afterwards was very telling. All he said was how the car was doing so well, and how he felt bad for the cars being taken out of the race. It wasn’t until the reporter asked him point blank about the crew member that he even acknowledged him. Shows what self centered jerks these drivers are. If he’s only led with the fact that he hoped the crew member was going to be okay, I would’ve thought a lot better of this person. I won’t be rooting for him anytime soon.
I still cant believe Rick Mears pulled off the win. When they came out of that last turn Rusty Wallace was so far up his butt I had to shield my kids eyes. Congrats on Rick for sticking it out though. When he got bumped by Unser Jr. while they were running that caution I was really upset. How do you bump a guy under a caution? That was bush league Al, and you know it. Hopefully Mears can take this momentum into Daytona and show Rahal he’s isnt the only one who can tame that oval. Anyhow, great race boys.
A driver is trained when the Jack drops you go On pulling out you are to pull to the Right The other Car the pink one was trying to pass the yellow one to get the advantage of placement leaving Pit row They were the one who caused that accident The pink Car clipped the other pushing him into the Pit crew people so was he not the Blame in this accident? I am more of a NASCAR fan and only watch some Indy when there is no NASCAR Race on I have seen this same type of thing happen in My style of racing and the one who clips another Car on Pit avenue is the one who is at blame not the Guy being pushed into the Pit Crew People.
That accident doesn’t really count. The spectators want to see a major crash and hear an announcement that someone died. That will increase attendance and the cost of admission.
Sorry but Indy is a joke. Cars go just going around and around, turn left, turn left, turn left. There is so little skill compared to F1. A driver works hard to build up a lead, and then one of the 20 yellows come out and their goes his hard earned lead. I believe its designed to have spectacular crashes, yellow, go to commercial break.
This happens in racing more hten you know. Everyone knows the dangers of going on pit road, it was just a racing deal where the pit boxes got screwed up. Hopefully crew is fine and everythings all good.
what are the odds that all 3 cars from the same team were involved-? it looked bad the first time, and even worse on slow motion. I have to hand it to all the crew members- they are brave and trust everyone with their lives every time they work on the car.

Somebody was not doing their job. A crew member has to wave a signal for the driver to leave the pits. Where is he in the video ?

After watching the tape this is horrifying. That is why I no longer watch racing!
