I Am Chris Farley

I Am Chris Farley

Comedian Chris Farley died at the age of 33 in 1997. The comic—who got his start in Chicago at Second City before breaking out on Saturday Night Live and films such as Tommy Boy and Black Sheep—is remembered fondly and, of course, sadly in this new trailer for the documentary I Am Chris Farley.

Directed by Brent Hodge and Derik Murray, the film chronicles Farley’s life, and includes vintage footage, home videos, and interviews with David Spade, Adam Sandler, Lorne Michaels, Bob Odenkirk, and Molly Shannon, among others.

The film opens in theaters July 31 and will also become available on VOD on Aug 11.

Bob Odenkirk, Adam Sandler, Jay Mohr, Bob Saget, Molly Shannon, Christina Applegate,Tom Arnold and Dan Ackroyd are among those who gathered to pay tribute and muse about the man behind the comedic myth and what might have been.

“He was this boy that wanted to do good, but then there was this other side of him,” Arnold recalls, “so his whole life was this constant battle.”

“You can’t walk around being funny all the time, you have to be yourself sometimes,” Odenkirk adds. “You have to be alone sometimes.”

The film opens in theaters July 31 and will also become available on VOD on Aug 11.
