HBO is in early talks with Zack Snyder to develop a “Watchmen” television series, based on the superhero comic book series from DC Comics.

Zack Snyder and HBO are currently in discussions to adapt the excellent comic Watchmen on the small screen. Meetings have already taken place between the two sides, according to the website Collider. Remember that Watchmen is owned by DC Comics, which is set to launch a huge movie about Batman and Superman, headed by Zack Snyder … to whom we owe the film Watchmen released in 2009.

This series of idea therefore seems credible enough, and a spokesman for HBO confirms to The Hollywood Reporter:

“Preliminary discussions did take place on a series Watchmen, but we have no further information on it to the moment.

No deal is at present. “We therefore know nothing yet about the project discussed by Snyder and HBO. Have they led a prequel, a sequel or a total reboot? Recall that the highly successful feature film, bringing Malin Akerman, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, had a small flop box office, with $ 185 million in revenue worldwide. He had been shot without the blessing of the creator of Watchmen, Alan Moore, has always opposed the adaptation of his work in live action.
