Simpson on a Mission to Lose Weight
Singer and actress Jessica Simpson gave birth to a baby girl this past spring, but has remained in the headlines due to her struggling weight issues.
Tabloids and magazines continue to report on the struggles the “Fashion Star” panelist faces with post-baby weight loss and her attempts to get back to the slim, trim bikini-body shape she sported in the 2005 “Dukes of Hazzard” movie.
As a newly signed Weight Watchers spokesperson, the new mother is also on a mission to lose 50 of the pounds that she packed on while carrying her daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson, her first child with fiance Eric Johnson.
Being a new mom hasn’t stopped the entertainer from talking about her new assets.
“She latched on at the very beginning. Nursing is a full-on job,” she previously told PEOPLE of breastfeeding. “Sometimes I worry she’s not getting enough, but it’s been an amazing experience.”
Simpson added: “It’s the worst if I have to pump and give Eric a bottle to give her. I miss holding her and having that closeness.”
The glowing mom took to twitter last month while she was on a walk.
“Just taking a walk around the block,” she Tweeted Friday, alongside a rather revealing pic.
Simpon said she would love to get back in “bikini shape” but has other pressing concerns first.
“It would be nice to feel comfortable in a bikini, but that’s not my goal,” Simpson, told PEOPLE. “I just want to fit into jeans!”
Now six moths after giving birth, Simpson has reportedly lost 60lbs.
This past week, the singer warped up a commercial for Weight Watchers, reports US Weekly.
“That’s a wrap on the @weightwatchers commercial!” the singer tweeted on Thursday afternoon, along with a teaser photo of herself on set, looking super slim in an all-black ensemble and sky-high heels.
“That just breaks my heart,” Wilkinson, 27, tells omg! from Yahoo!. “I feel for her. I was in the same boat. People just need to mind their own business. That’s a woman who just gave birth. Her first priority right now is her child. Her first priority is not losing the weight. You should be proud of her for that. A lot of people just dump their kids off at nannies and lose the weight overnight. We should all be proud of her for being real and taking control and making priorities.”
Last month, Simpson told Us Weekly she had lost all but 10 of the 70 pounds she gained while pregnant with daughter Maxwell.
“I feel positive about how I’ve done so far and really good about the goals I have set,” she told Us. “Most people can tell a difference every time they see me, which lets me know I’m making progress.”
