Royal Family Expresses Sadness Over Nurse’s Death
The Royal Family has openly expressed their extreme sadness over the recent death of Duchess Kate Middleton’s nurse, Jacintha Saldanha.
Saldanha was a member of the staff of King Edward VII’s hospital. Saldanha was a kind, diligent and very respected part of the staff. She worked at the hospital for more than four years and has always proved herself to be an excellent caregiver.
Saldanha was one of the nurses who took care of the Duchess while she was hospitalized for extreme morning sickness. She was also the victim of a very distasteful prank. Two Australian DJ’s called the hospital pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles. After successfully fooling Saldanha, they requested confidential information regarding Middleton’s medical condition.
Saldanha was found unconscious in her home two days after the vicious prank call. She had committed suicide which was believed to be related to the horrible prank. Saldanha leaves behind two children and many other who love and respect her. The authorities are not certain what drove her to commit such a desperate act, but neither the Royal Family nor the hospital reprimanded or blamed Saldanha in any way.
A statement released by Prince William and Kate Middleton read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha. Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha’s family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.”
The radio station expressed their sadness in a released statement:
“SCA and 2Day FM are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha from King Edward VII’s Hospital,” TMZ.com quoted Southern Cross Austereo, the company that owns the station as saying in a statement.
SCA said the CEO has spoken with both the DJs – Mel Greig and Michael Christian, who are “deeply shocked” over the tragedy.
“SCA and the hosts have decided that they will not return to their radio show until further notice out of respect for what can only be described as a tragedy,” the company added.
The two disc-jockeys, Mel Greig and Michael Christian have been suspended from their show until further notice are now facing questioning from NSW police after a formal request from Scotland Yard, according to the Herald Sun. “It is (a non-suspicious death) but if you’re going to prepare a coroner’s brief you will need to look at all aspects of it and there’s this question about what was said and done,” NSW Deputy Commissioner Nick Kaldas said.
According to Examiner, Dj’s have deleted their Twitter accounts. Both are not only in hiding, but are being closely monitored following the tragic turn of events involving the nurse from King Edward VII Hospital.
Absolutely tragic, but clearly there were other factors involved here. Her poor children.
Unfortuntely, this poor woman more than likely felt she had betrayed the royal family which would have been unforgivable if she practices a particular religion. These two australian idiots need to be fired, and they should be made responsible for this persons death. They ARE guilty, no doubt about it. Such a thoughtless, immature, thing to do – something a teenager would think of! Not funny, not clever, and utterly stupid!
