“It’s definitely somewhere far over 100,” the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star said proudly. “I mean like literally almost half my size.”
Johnson has been shedding pounds over the past nine months after undergoing gastric bypass surgery, which he considers a “tool.”
“I think that it was something that really helped me jumpstart the life I definitely wanted to lead,” he explained of the surgery. “I wanted to be the best me I can be and that’s always something I wanted to do. It’s something that I struggled with and I needed that push in the right direction. And now my mindset is completely changed.”
Back in October 2014, the E! reality star revealed Star Jones helped him make the decision to go under the knife, which left his stomach now the size of a banana.
“She told me that it was definitely a tool for a whole new life,” Johnson recalled of Jones, who underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2003. “It was not something that was the easy way out by any means. This is not something that you do and then all of a sudden everything is gone and you’re skinny and you’re a new person. It’s definitely a tool and something that you have to work at.”
To maintain a steady weight loss, the 6’2″ fashion blogger eats a bowl of cereal for breakfast, followed by yogurt or string cheese for a snack; for lunch, he eats a tuna or chicken salad with a protein shake or yogurt as a snack; and for dinner, he eats lean protein such as fish or chicken with a side of vegetables.
Cutting out alcohol, bread, fried foods and foods with high sugar content – which has been a bit easier because his family already eats “pretty healthy” – Johnson, who is currently living at home with his parents in Beverly Hills, admits he’s “a lot more diligent right now.”
Says the star: “Being able to take control of my life again, take control of what I’m eating and my fitness is enlightening and empowering.”
