The actress was asked about her body transformation on CBS This Morning on Wednesday. She has not revealed how many pounds she has lost or when she began her weight loss journey, which appears to have taken place gradually over the past year.

“Melissa, can I say you look great? I saw you on the red carpet with one of your designs and…I was saying, ‘Listen, I’m about to sign up for Weight Watchers for the third time, because I do know it works, and you’re doing something that’s working for you,” co-host Gayle King said. “Do you want to say what it is?”

“Just crying a lot,” McCarthy joked, smiling. “I’m crying off the pounds.”

“Melissa knows that fans love her big and beautiful, and she’s not obsessed with dieting,” the source continued. “She’s looking for a happy medium. Melissa realized she wasn’t being as healthy as she could be. She wants to set a good example for her kids and she wants to be around to become a grandmother too.”

The actress was recently given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “It was a little overwhelming,” she later admitted.

“I thought, ‘Just try to stay in it so you remember it, don’t get so overwhelmed,’ because I’m like, I don’t want to forget today, I don’t want to forget my mom, my kids, anybody that I get to see here watch this happen. I want to remember every second of it,” she said.

McCarthy credits her husband with helping her keep things in perspective. “I got hit with the lucky stick with Ben,” she says. Falcone tells the magazine, “We got hit with the same lucky stick. From the very first time we spoke, we were on the same page. We love each other, respect each other and try not to sweat the small stuff. And we really make each other laugh.”
