The Christmas season wouldn’t be complete without the annual list of outrageously priced gifts offered by the Texas-based Neiman Marcus department store.
This year a pair of “Poetic Watches” created by luxury jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels are the most expensive gift offering, priced at just a little more than a cool million dollars, payable by cash or Neiman Marcus credit card.
The unique timepieces depict two romantic scenes of lovers gazing toward each other from Notre Dame and the Effel Tower, with one watch designed to be worn by the woman and the other by her amour.
Diamonds have been used in the design of each watch, with the man’s watchband made from alligator hide and the woman’s watchband pure silk. Although the watch pair is the most expensive thing on the Neiman-Marcus list for 2012, they do come complete with a trip to Geneva and Paris for the lucky duo that finds them under their Christmas tree.
