Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s estranged wife, Mary, found dead in New York
Mary Richardson Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has died at age 52. She was found at her home, in Bedford, on Wednesday.
The Kennedy clan issued a statement through attorney Kerry Lawrence: “We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her. Our heart goes out to her children who she loved without reservation.”
Mary Kennedy had two brushes with the law when in 2010 she was first arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol above the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Her blood-alcohol level of 0.11 percent saw her license being suspended.
Her second arrest came later that same year for driving under the influence of drugs; specifically prescription medication. The case was dismissed in July of 2011.
Mary Kennedy married Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in 1994 and together they had four children. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the nephew of President John. F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1963.
The autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
