On Tuesday, June 5, 2012, an unsuspecting couple in Pennsylvania welcomed their 3 sons into the world. Not only were the 3 boys a surprise, but they are a rare case of identical triplets.
Born one minute apart at 8:42 am, 8:43 am, and 8:44 am, the boys nearly knocked their father, Daniel Price, off his feet. Mister Price said he was glad there was a wall behind him to hold him up.
Jennifer and Daniel Price, along with their daughter, have been holding and coddling the triplets who have been named; Daniel Jeffrey, Ryder James and Garrett Campbell.
“It’s one day at a time. You don’t know what to expect but right now everything is good,” said their smiling Mom Jessica.
“We’re watching their breathing and making sure that their airways stay open,” explained NICU nurse Larissa Raze.
Identical triplets are a rarity, occurring in approximately 1 in 500,000 births. This means that all 3 babies came from the same egg.
The family has been trying to find some sort of identifying differences between the babies so they can tell them apart. Their father says so far there is nothing, even down to the cowlicks, they are truly identical. Temporary tattoo’s with permanent markers might be the only solution at this point.
