The American Rodney King, victim of police violence in Los Angeles in the early 90s, was found dead Sunday in his swimming pool, confirmed the police and his wife.
He was 47 years old.
In 1991, Rodney King was brutally beaten with batons by white policemen. The scene was filmed by a citizen.
The acquittal of police officers in that case had sparked violent race riots that had engulfed the city for several days.
